  1. katiebird

oh, my eyes just started to water. that is so incredibly adorable.

  2. Skipper Pickle

This is everything i like about this strip in a nutshell.

Well, okay. The occasional wild-eyed panic in the ACC’s eyes is missing. i like that too.

  3. cs3ink

    Friggin’ PERFECT!

    Very, very , VERY touching.

    I LOVE THIS STRIP!

    When can I buy it?

  4. ramón

    beautiful.

  5. Kenneth

Man – I hope this strip makes it into a book-format at some point – its just as sweet and adorable and overall great as the “Alien and Possum” books – would make great reading with kids …. and grown-ups with a childlike disposition :)

  6. Calista Brill

You are RENDING my freaking HEARTSTRINGS.

  7. Silenzio

Thank you. That is a perfect example of what this media should do. This is the art that web comics could be, not just in pictures but in the words as well. Please keep up the excellent work.

  8. Esn

    Outstanding!

  9. imojen

    beautiful beautiful like ALWAYS.
i only wish that i had an adbominable stuffed animal* when i was little.

    * i don’t know if that’s a southern term or not, but i mean teddy-bear-esque animal that you cuddle and sleep with, not a hunting trophy.

  10. Cameron

Aaaaahhhhhhh tthat’s cute and heartbreaking. :( This may be the best strip yet, certainly the one that provoked the strongest immediate reaction. I can so hear that kid’s voice.

  11. karl

Thanks everyone! I felt the same way about this one. Again, I had no plans to go in this direction, but it felt right when I sat down to draw it and I’m pretty sure that little fox will be around for a long time.

And Imojen, I always called them stuffed animals, too! ;)

  12. Esn

Is the little fox male or female? My first guess was “male”, but in this strip it looks more female, and the speech certainly seems more feminine to me.

I guess you’re still free to make that call. :)

  13. katiebird

Esn, I was thinking it’s probably a male, especially because he pals around with his older brothers so much. But, I suppose it’s that androgynous cartoon character thing.

  14. Mike

I love that the fox’s expression is still just a little bit dismayed after he’s been picked up, just like a kid’s face would be: “I’m comforted, but not fully.”

  15. DaveFlora

It’s amazing that this is an unbelievable situation that is…..utterly believable. Especially when you are talking to children, the hurt in their lives just pops out like that.
In other words, you, my sir, are a webcomic playa.)
    -Dave

  16. Nika

Ohhhhh it’s just so cute! And sad, and funny, and…. perfect! This is becoming my favorite webcomic, and it doesn’t even have a plot yet! The childlike-ness of that little fox is so stunningly accurate and perfect (and adorable), I can’t get over it.

  17. Nika

ps- yeah they’re called stuffed animals

  18. Chrys Fraipont

I never knew a comic strip could be so touching. I think I want to take the fox home!

  19. Chris

That’s some spot-on little kid dialog.

I really hope you can update this more often.

  20. sylvia

    Oh *sniff*

  21. The Ridger

Came here today from Dinosaur Comics and have been catching up. This is the best one so far. I love this strip – will definitely be coming back weekly

  22. KinokoFry

    Wow. Wow.

These are stunningly beautiful. You’ve managed to capture that essence of… beauty in simplicity, I suppose, SO well. I’m quite jealous.

This one made me actually “Aww!” with my hands on my face. Adorable!

I will be continuing to read this from now on.

  23. Vvicked

Christopher is such a sucker for the little guy. :)
lol @ Mike’s “I’m comforted, but not fully.”

  24. Cato

    @DaveFlora – I couldn’t agree more

  25. xiao baihu

this little fox is my inner self. <3
off at college, and missing my mentors/brothers, too.

the way he speaks and the way he’s drawn convey emotions perfectly. beautiful! I agree completely with KinokoFry.

  26. Aeon

XD It just gets cuter and cuter!

  27. Cheeku

    Awww……Poor li’l snow fox. Adorable.

  28. 小布

poor big yeti and poor little fox :(, they can not make a conversation ,wuwuwu

  29. Andrius

    I hope she/he finds his/her brothers…

    Aw…

  30. Renoistic

    AWWWWW

  31. JPop

I didn’t know whether to laugh or cry or perhaps do both at the same time as I read this. Touching and funny at the same time. The expression in the third panel is just so damn right, I just don’t know what else to say.

  32. ali

omgosh! i want a shirt with that wolf on it! it so cute! ^.^

  33. Aerliss

Can I have one? And I may have to make a collage wallpaper of all the cutest panels from this strip… it’ll make me smile every time I start up my laptop.

  34. oomu

I went back all the way from the latest one today

  35. Froggy

I’m going to say this now, I came back and re-read, and I’m going to have to say, these moments make me cry so much… *sniffle* For good reason.

  36. Aida

It’s so rare to find a comic I really, really enjoy! The banner makes me laugh every time I see it~

  37. ms_chaos

aaaaw i love the foxes expression in the last panel and i had such an aaaw moment with one or two tears sneaking outta my sockets, DAMN LEAK!!!

  38. blue fox

    wow…. he’s… wow, can i have ‘im?

  39. Shooz

Can i take him home? He’s so lonely and cute….

  40. Althestane

OMG. I’m re-reading from the start, and i recall thinking “the fox’s” comment was a sad bit of humor…in the “i talk too much so they don’t play with me” vein. But now….it’s just breaking my heart! (don’t worry folks, read on, it’s amazing)

This also means I’ve just now realized how deep and foresighted your storyline is, Karl, and my already considerable respect for what you do has increased 10-fold!

  41. Ai

    T___T <33

  42. Loki

awww. just like a little kid….
