*roflmao* A beautiful transition from the sublime (CC asleep in the snow with the fox cub) to the ridiculous. I wonder how much sissi pays those two yobos. Probably at least one free meal a week.
I only have one small critique. The skunks I have actually seen irl don’t have that much ground clearance when they are on all fours. Of course most skunks I have seen irl don’t do product placement adverts, either, so I guess that’s all even.
I completely agree with you Odo. When I finished this strip I was bothered by something about those skunks. I try to make the animals as close to correct as I can, but I didn’t reference the skunks much and they’re all over the map. design-wise. Hopefully they’ll become more consistent as time goes on.
Just one of the pitfalls of doing a weekly strip, I guess! It’s not always going to come out the way I imagined it.
[...] one yeti/Sasquatch, an alcoholic bird, skunks who love to advertise their stuff with an enthusiastic thumbs up, and a mystical, godlike moon bear? One of the most refreshing webcomics I’ve ever read. [...]
don’t be too hard on yourself, Karl. While I kind of agree about the skunks looking just a twitch “off” … I mean… those legs are already pretty short, could you draw them shorter? I’m sure you could, but damn. Besides, they’re CUTE. And really really identifiable with the audience, clearly. :-D That’s what counts.
I’ve gone through your comic a few times, and every time I hit this page the same thought comes up in my mind. You should totally do a shirt of the two skunks doing the thumbs up, it’s just perfect.
Hahahah, this is brilliant! I’d buy your comic, but it’s pretty expensive for my budget… Also, it would be very cute if you will make in the future a t-shirt with the guys from panel 6… it would be hillarious! Also, the las panel is very funny.

Oh, the skunks are the savvy businesswomen of the wild?
January 9th, 2008 at 6:58 pm
HAHAHA!
those are some savvy skunks!
January 9th, 2008 at 7:09 pm
I’ve eaten as Sissy’s. It’s not all that good, but the insects are always fresh so I’ll probably go back sometime.
January 9th, 2008 at 7:27 pm
OMG — is that some kind of viral marketing thing going on in the wild??? That’s some messed up
$#!t righ there. Those sellout skunks!!
January 9th, 2008 at 7:55 pm
This strip is composed of 99.99999% pure win.
January 9th, 2008 at 10:47 pm
Every panel of this makes me laugh for a different reason.
(Er, none of which are in mockery. It’s good laughter. Really.)
January 9th, 2008 at 11:18 pm
I absolutely love the expressions on the faces of the skunks in the second-to-last panel. That’s just TOO perfect.
January 10th, 2008 at 1:54 am
This is one of my favourite ones so far! Just hilarious.
I love how stuffed that raccoon looks in the first panel.
January 10th, 2008 at 9:44 am
best strip so far, everything in this is great, art and words.
January 10th, 2008 at 3:39 pm
NICE ONE! This strip made me laugh a ton!
January 10th, 2008 at 4:43 pm

ACC is on my list of “must check”. Well done!.

And thanks for the jingle, Ra. It’s stuck in my head now. ;)
January 13th, 2008 at 1:09 am
That was funny.. I actually didn’t see it coming until the third frame.. cause they’re skunks. I mean.. yeah.
January 13th, 2008 at 7:09 pm
hahahaha I LOVE IT!
January 16th, 2008 at 3:43 pm
I love that the shameless self-aggrandizing skunks are literally skunks.
January 26th, 2008 at 9:26 pm
Ok, the look on the faces of those skunks in that second to last panel are just so ridiculous. That should be made into a motivational poster.
Just discovered the strip today, and love everything about it.

Commercials in the wild! Proof that advertising works! (Tested on animals)

I’m hungry now too.
Beautiful comic.

nothin to say but HA!
September 25th, 2008 at 2:23 am
that raccoon looks pretty fat already… ah, the power of suggestion and advertising…
September 25th, 2008 at 2:25 am
last one on this, i promise…
consistency is over rated… i like em the way you drew… didnt even notice… and i still cant really see what the problem is…
September 30th, 2008 at 12:15 pm
ROTFL! I can almost hear the “ting!” when they do their thumbs-up.
For some reason I hear their voices as Robin Williams (a la Happy Feet). XD
December 8th, 2008 at 3:31 am
This is my favorite one.
February 9th, 2009 at 7:37 pm
“Man, am I full” – Chris Rock.
“You look full, friend…” – Robin Williams
March 29th, 2009 at 10:52 pm
Actually they are southern belles ala Thelma and Louise
May 28th, 2009 at 3:15 pm
Is the skunk on the right Sissy herself? All skunks look the same to me…
June 17th, 2009 at 6:24 pm
Karl, i would greatly appreciate it if you could enlarge panel 6 and put it on a shirt…
July 16th, 2009 at 11:41 pm
I seriously laughed out loud at this.
This is fantastic.
August 5th, 2009 at 10:22 pm
@Lyon: Yep! The other .00001% is the blank space between the panels.
August 21st, 2009 at 3:55 pm
There really has to be an “Eat at Sissi Skunk’s” t-shirt.
September 11th, 2009 at 12:36 am
Brilliant. Just…f***ing brilliant.

Ooh advertising, the wild way.
