Hi everyone! If you’ve bookmarked the RSS feed and you’re having problems, it’s because I’ve moved the comic to a new server (the old one was being flaky). Please change your existing bookmarks to point to the new feed at http://abominable.transmission-x.com .

    Thanks!

Bravado may be a happy-go-lucky guy(fox) for the most part, but his admonishment is FIERCE!

I friggin’ love this comic. It is far and away some of the best comics I’ve ever seen. Keep the good stuff coming, please.

Your webcomic has flown right to the top of the list for me. I’m looking forward to every update. Thanks!

This is such a great story. I love this comic. Beautiful – still not sure which print I will buy – each week gets better :)

  7. Ali

Fantastic strip!! I only started reading it today so it was really fun going through each panel and having array of emotional experiences. I totally love all your characters.

I’m going to spread the word of your strip to the rest of T&T (Can’t wait till next Wednesday)

  8. Carrie

    hahahahahahaha
    yer awesome, Karl
your strip totally reminds me of Bone. So beautiful. so funny!

  9. Louisa

The fox’s indignation is priceless. Also, I love the way that lemming(?) just instantly agrees that he is the wind, deadpan.

  10. Jeremy

A new character! What is he, though? Looks a little bit like a chinchilla.

And clearly, getting on our little fox’s bad side isn’t a good idea.

  11. Kindle

Oh, complete and utter SQUEE. That is obscenely cute.

  12. sco3tt

    That made me laugh.

  13. Andrew

That frightened smile on the new character in the last panel is just another example of your amazing talent. I can’t get how you can portray the emotions so well on animals, it’s awesome.

  14. Glen

    pure greatness.

  15. Usivius

OK, take all this praise from the kindly readers above, add a dash of sincere admiration and heap my praise on the pile.
    Lovely stuff.

    :)

  16. Wren Small

    Nice try little rodent

  17. Stephy

That is a world class wind impression he’s got there. Very windy for such a little guy. I love him, he might be my new favourite.

  18. r

    Brilliant.
I like how the little guy just affirms hi being the wind right away, and the cold, unemotional distain of the fox is prescious.
    Good work.

  19. Chip

Your art is breathtakingly beautiful. There is no question of that. Your writing, however, as well as the synthesis of both, is/are truly masterful. Astonishing work. Touching. Funny. Gorgeous.

    Thank you.

  20. neophyte

  21. katiebird

Hey! I got the print I ordered! It’s beautiful!

  22. tog89

is that a sheepish grin on the lemming in the last panel?
    yup, now that’s funny.
loving the strip and count me in for a pre-order of vol. 1.

  23. Jonathan

I really love this comic. I hope you plan to release it on paper someday. :)

  24. Crash

You’re going to be at the Calgary Expo! YAY!

Any chance you’ll be doing ACC sketches?

  25. John Baltisberger

Hi, been reading since the beginning. This comic cracked me up. I’ve been on all three sides of this conversation. and in one instance I mean this EXACT conversation. <..> Gets outsa my head!

  26. Stig

I was just pointed in this direction by Crowfeather. I just had to read through the archives at once, it is that good. Genius!

  27. Karl

Thanks everyone! This one came out of nowhere. I had started drawing a different strip and then had the idea for the wind joke in the shower. Which is where most of my ideas come to me.

Louisa: That little guy IS a lemming! I love that you noticed!

Crash: There’s EVERY chance that I’ll be doing ACC sketches! Come by my table and I’ll hook you up. I’ll probably also bring some prints, and I’m thinking of doing a Calgary-specific illustration for the event.

  28. Yesa

cool beans dude! if this becomes a book someday i’d buy it.

  29. Doc

    You TELL ‘em, Bravado!

  30. Hackenwulf

I love the look on the face of the fox when he says ‘Liar!” Priceless!

  31. Louisa

Hooray, I identified the little rodent right! Wonderful job drawing a lemming, then; I’ve only seen a few pictures and figured that’s what it was right away.

I love how well you draw wildlife. It’s accurate, yet just anthropomorphosized enough to allow for excellent expression.

  32. cathammer

Hey, is it Wednesday yet in Canada? I need my fix!

  33. Cooper

    <3 Foxy.

  34. Robert

I was thinking it was a pika (not a lemming) but the ears are too small.

  35. Jarreth

I wish I could have the third panel on a tee shirt

  36. james

    a dirty rotten fat liar!

i love the look of guilt on the rodent’s face…

  37. Molly

I love the 4th panel! Their expressions are perfect. lol

  38. Andrius

Noooo, foxy, don’t eat the lemming!
    I love your art!

  39. Froggy

I’ve been reading these for some time now. The comedy is great, and so is the art, I love the blend of realism, heart, and humor.

  40. Z

    That’s just awesome.

  41. Froggy

I swear, I can hear a cute little childish voice in my head saying “You’re a liar.”, like a 6-year old voice. My god, I love this comic.

  42. Z

    Hahaha. Good show.
