How to Make Webcomics
March 14th, 2008
There’s finally a release date for How To Make Webcomics, the new book by Scott Kurtz and friends. It hit the shelves on March 12 and I’m eager to check it out.
I’m relatively new to the whole webcomics thing, so there are a lot of concepts I want to dig into, such as scheduling, publishing, etc. These guys do a great podcast called Webcomics Weekly, which I listen to every week, so if the information is as good as their conversations then I think this book will be a winner.

I just got this the other day finally from Amazon, and it was WELL worth the wait! Great insights, and they give you information from every step of the process from creating a concept to tips on laying out your site to what you need to bring to your booth at a comic-con! AWESOME book that should be the first book any aspiring webcomic artist refers to.

There’s something else you could check out – the makers of http://www.thedreamlandchronicles.com sharing their experience. Available through WOWIO by Scott Christian Sava. Looks very interesting, but me being outside US haven’t been able to check it out, I just saw him talk about it in his news section.
And I think the makers of http://www.girlgeniusonline.com have talked or published about their very successful experience with webcomics as well. Worth cecking out.

Oh yeah, a friend just got this for me! I was trying to figure out all the logistics of starting a webcomic, and after blazing through all the vital bits of this book in one night, I knew where to go, what to set up, and started my webcomic the next morning. This book made made me want to learn wordpress! What’s great about it is that while it’s perfect to get you up and running online, it goes wellll into all the advanced details of the business end of things and where to take your webcomic to make a living off it. Hats off.
