Heyyyy I see an allegory to the Bible coming on. Moses was sent to Egypt even though he had a speech impediment. The lion is God, like C S Lewis’s Aslan? Ok maybe I’m horribly off, but it makes sense to me.

I thought of Istanbul when I saw the picture, too, but I think the story is not necessarily in our when/where.

That looks exactly like the Hagia Sophia to me, and the city’s location near the water backs that up (but near the mountains?. If Istanbul is ruled by a King, but we’re in the age of the railcar, then that narrows the date of the story quite a bit, as the Ottoman Empire came to an end in 1922.

But that’s a guess, as the Hagia Sophia has been copied a few times in other cities. The game was fun, though.

Hmmm, somehow I think that’s three more things than Charles can actually remember, assuming he can actually understand the lion. Maybe his little fox friend can help (though Bravado seems to have all the attention span of a pair of puppies)..

Well so far we’ve had no reason to believe Charles can understand anything anyone has said to him, have we? He didn’t understand the bee, and he’s not actually responded to anybody… Maybe he just likes listening to Mr Lion, lol.

That lion is obviously magic of some sort. I’m sure he’ll figure that out. Also, the fox will always be called bravado. It’ll be a way to tell new readers. they’ll know his “real” name, assuming it’s not Bravado.
