What is the lion saying to charles? Go back a few strips to where the lion is talking to charles; that's what he's saying. This strip is showing the same event from Townsen's perspective (he can't hear what the lion is saying, he can only tell that the lion is saying something, the same way we can't tell what the lion is saying, only that he is saying something). It's just a slightly more sophisticated version of putting "whisper whisper" in standard-onomatopeia-font.
