Hmmm – I see he’s replaced his pacifier with his thumb . The frog’s expression in the second last panel is priceless . I can see Charles giving way to the frog – not ’cause it’s his spot – but the desire to get going – and maybe find Townsen (hope hope ) .
Great stuff my friend!! Love the simplicity of some panels and the delivery of humour….+ great art, makes for an amazing comic. Keep up the great work man!!
When I look at the toad I think of the old original WB frog … right after getting “caught” by someone other than the person he was singing and dancing for…just sitting there…looking mostly dead…and then….riiiiiiiiiiibet.
What is it with people (and obviously toads) that makes them think that just because they often sit in a spot, they become entitled to that spot? I love Charles’ look in the last panel. He isn’t scared of the toad, but abashed at having infringed on another’s spot. Thanks for the laugh Karl.
Karl – was glad when I saw the “avatar” news . Registered at the “grarvatar” site last week . Still waiting for an email from them . Did it a couple of times more . No Reason Comics also has the same posting up . Tried from there also with the same null results . Just thought you should know . I use my avater on other sites with no problem – sized down as required .
When I entered the site today, it actually happened that the mouse pointer came to rest in that first panel, the tooltip said ‘morning face’ – and there it was. It’s not only you, Molly. And I don’t think this facelike shadow / shadowlike, grim face appeared accidentally
Karl – sent a mail to the support group at Gravatar – a nice man named “Daniel” was good enough to send me a link and the problem is solved . Maybe the rest of the TransX site might consider the use of avatars and use them also – would be nice .
It’s a feature of the new ComicPress plugin, so there’s no reason we can’t incorporate it across the whole of TX. I really like it.
I’m glad you got it working!
Incredibly simplistic and yet deep and moving.
High quality art and clever dialogue make this comic more than your usual weekly webcomic. When you compair it to the average Webcomic, it’s like compairing High quality sushi with pieces of rotting fish.
Well done.
I hope to see much more of this in the future.

Hmm… I’ve woken up to that face before… Usually only after really late nights, though. And never in the middle of the forest. Naked.

Aww… he actually left?
Go find Townsen, Chuck!

Very nice! I agree that the toad’s expression is brilliant.
The “You’re in my spot” line reminded me of Peter Richardson’s bizarre cartoon “Shinji-San in the Land of Indeterminate Duration”:

I’m going to pretend that this installment is a tribute to the passing of Spot the Frog. If you’ll excuse me, I’m off to spread the rumor.

That is one HUGE toad.

Do I see a bit of a Jabba influence in that frog’s mug?
August 5th, 2008 at 4:32 pm
I’m pretty sure frogs preceded Jabba the Hut. Perhaps its the other way around
August 6th, 2008 at 1:44 pm
Is it just me, or does it look like there is a face in the leaves in the first panel?

March 27th, 2009 at 7:19 pm
Sucking his thumb instead of the dummy… hehe.
One question… where did he get it from in the first place?!
