Yes it’s his own fault… but he’s so pitiful in panel 2. The wife is being pretty mean. Hope the whole experience convinces him to change. The grace of the kids is neat.

my take kind of bothers me…especially as a father.
the last panel had the ominous hunter in the shadows thing…seeing critter traps everywhere.

my read is: where is momma bird? gone? i hope she just sent the kids out cause otherwise i’m gonna have some issues- great strip- especially since you can read things multiple ways with the strips. it can be as dark as you want or as light as a feather.

This is a wonderful strip. All the more so because it’s so unusual to find any artist these days doing something so warm (or so it seems, anyway).

This bird is fast becoming my favourite character. I hope we’ll see more of him.

I really enjoy your strip. I only recently ran across it – perhaps a week ago and have already finished the archives. It’s gorgeously done with wonderful penmanship and a great storyline. I’m really excited to see how it all develops. Thanks for putting this work up for all of us to appreciate!
