I know how the ‘coons feel. Sometimes I’ll plan to go biking and it’ll rain, so not only can I not ride at the time I have to wait for all the mountain-bikeing trails to dry out :-/
I’m am getting impatient to learn the fate of Townsend! But I’m sure once we do find out it will be well worth the wait.
Plus we haven’t heard from Vivol in a while…
Loved the interview – explains a lot . Thanks for sharing it . As for the raccoons – the one on the left reminds me of a few doom and gloom types that I’ve run into on occasion – never a pleasant moment with them . Did we have an unpleasant experience with one lately ? Hmmmm – hope that we progress to ACC – and further revelations next week . Thanks again.
The way the raccoon on the left acts reminds me of some Asian kids I went to high school with who were always under pressure from their parents, and often eager to lay the blame on something else (girls especially would talk like this). Although I act like that myself sometimes when I’m irritable (rarely).
Huh. I guess these raccoons are from California or something… If the were up here in Oregon, it would be business as usual. And since when do raccoons (even those with a full schedule) go out during the day?
Left-Racoon definately shares the attitude of many Maritimers this summer. While I would enjoy a little more sun, summer rain is the best rain there is. It’s warm! You can shower in it! Puddles, puddles, puddles!
Anyway, thanks for continually composing these little scenes from my life. I never new I was such an inspiration. ;-)
“Or was I the only person reading this who didn’t particularly enjoy him?”
Townsen’s not my favourite character, but I like him. He’s had a lot of great moments.
My personal least favourite characters are the two young birds learning to fly, just because the strips with them tend to be a bit blander and less funny than others for me. I like everyone else, though.
The quality of this strip is so high that even my least favorite stuff is still really good. This strip is one of those “smell the roses” things I do on Wednesdays. Thanks again Karl.
I don’t hate Townsen, I just don’t like him that much. I think the character I dislike the most is the fledglings, as you say, they aren’t very interesting.
But as efogoto says, the art quality of the strip far outshines any of its singular characters, the stories the forest weaves together are delicious!

Hey, if they’re so important, why doesn’t he just get wet? I know that raccoon.

College has just started and getting used to everything has been difficult. I’m so glad I have these critters to keep my spirits up.

Ah, that second raccoon is so clueless, I love it. And the rain, a powerful rapscallion if ever there was one!
I say leave Townsen alone for now, Or was I the only person reading this who didn’t particularly enjoy him?

(Hope the rain didn’t ruin the roadtrip).

Am I the only one who sung “Just blame it on the rain, girl” outloud when I read the title?
Maybe I am. I love this so much though, this is the one webcomic I will definitely buy in book form when it comes out.
