There was a night the summer before I went to college where the fire alarm went off in my friends apartment building. We were outside for a while and I didn’t get home until much later than I’d planned. I walked in the door to find my mother awake. “Is everything alright? I woke to bells ringing.”

Just discovered the comic today. Wonderful.

In your story about your own mother’s intuition, you mention that your father was “thankfully unhurt.” Please, please please let the same be true for our little Townsen… I don’t think we’d survive the heartbreak. :(

I find it fascinating that you have captured people enough (myself included) that the mere thought of a character (you have only had appear what….less than a dozen times? maybe 8?) being in trouble has caused this much emotion.

I hate you Karl, draggin me into loving this and then making me wait a week to continue the story…course even if you did daily’s I would still be chock full of suspense. I hope you come down towards Pennsylvania so I can meet you sometime.

I discovered TACC this weekend and I’ve already introduced it to a handful of friends and can’t wait for this Wednesday’s comic. Thank you, Karl, for this amazing work. I would gladly pay for a publication of this work, and I am considering purchasing a print as soon as I can afford to.

Everyone assumes something happened to Townsen, but he has brothers right? I mean, sure, something could have happened to Townsen, but I seem to recall he ran into his brothers and then they were gone…. Maybe I just don’t want anything to happen to Townsen.

A “holy” book is not the source of goodness. Nor is any god. The connection of a mother to a child, that is where goodness comes from. Because that is where the first unconditional caring comes from. If you take away the mother from a child then you take away it’s reason to be good to others. and if the mother doesn’t care, then the mother doesn’t care. and the child has that much less to look forward to. Or that much less to concern itself with caring.
