I haven't given it too much thought, Jaycee, but I'm imagining something kind of like a cross between Phantom Hourglass and Nintendogs. (???)

Just being curious... What would you say are the basic pillars of a ACC DS game?

(Right now, because it's late, I'm only seeing some kind of platformer with some kind of relevant "friendship" mechanic, laden with poignant cut-scenes.)

IIRC the DS has 16-bit graphics in at least one of its screen modes, so you're still right karl. ;-)

I used to do pixel art for mobile phone games (sorry, that's cell phones to everyone else), you could get a pretty good game written and drawn in J2ME (cut back version of Java) and have a downloadable games lots of folks could play.

There are plenty of games from the Super NES (Chrono Trigger) AND Nintendo 64 (Super Mario 64) days that are ported to the DS. It can handle any backwards implementation as well. Quite versatile little machine for what it can do.

You might have a bit of trouble writing a 16-bit game for the 32-bit Nintendo DS :) I guess you could switch the CPU to thumb mode and have the majority of game code in 16-bit...

Ooooh! Ooooh! In the game you just kinda wander around aimlessly until it starts raining. Then you lose control of CC while he runs around the area randomly and into trees/bushes/rivers/etc. And if we're going for an RPG style game, there will be random encounters with bear traps that CC smacks around until they break!

...ok yeah, I got nothin'. I'm tired and thought it sounded funny :)
