Saw on twitter you were looking for printer. Maybe Tom Siddel from Gunnerkrigg (http://www.gunnerkrigg.com/) could get you in touch with the people he used. I just picked up his hardcover full color book from amazon and its beautiful And affordable.
Oooh, very foreboding. Under the cawing of the crows, I can almost FEEL the stillness. And I’m with ramon; I think the ‘leaves’ are going to turn out to be crows.
One of the things that get me about this strip is that Karl, while anthropomorphizing his subjects, nevertheless has a superb knowledge of their anatomy in the real world. Mr Crab was an excellent example.
also, uh-ohs, foreboding comic is foreboding!
let’s hope next week isn’t another random animal comic, as hilarious as they are, the suspense is hurting me!
I’m so impressed to see Charles Christopher is so far beyond the cowering creature from the early strips. He’s grown so organically in a story so rich…though I miss the pacifier it would seem out of place with him now. I love this (and you) so very much.
Just started reading today, love your work, glad I stumbled across CC. Very evocative and humorous work. You manage to bring to life characters with more passion and reality than some authors achieve in thousands of words. I miss Townsen deeply.
My brother just told me about this comic. I sat down and read from start to finish. He was right. It is excellent. Definitely will be added to my list of regularly read comics.
I just stumbled this site, and I have to say, I’m in love. Your work is absolutely beautiful and breathtaking, and you blend comedy and deepness so well. I’ve already read your strip from start to finish, and I can’t wait to read more. =D
All those feathers, leads him to this tree, i wonder what he will find?…love how you can switch from cheeky to moody at a whim, great work Karl! Oh and btw, i hate you and your talent. ;)

April 8th, 2009 at 5:43 pm
sweet panning out effect at the end. something big’s about to happen.
April 8th, 2009 at 5:54 pm
I like how creepy the crow is in the first panel. I think it’s the tongue and the eye without a pupil.
Great job!

Da tree, baas, da treeeeeee!
April 8th, 2009 at 6:00 pm
So, where does the river go after the tree? It looks like a cul de sac.
Very creepy.
April 8th, 2009 at 6:25 pm
@Ramon: That reminds me of the Nevermore Tree from “The Vile Village” by Lemony Snickets (I read them to my son).
@Zenon: It’s just a very thirsty tree.

It’s amazing how solemn and apprehensive this one is. Then I read the title xD.
April 8th, 2009 at 8:41 pm
Holy hell that looks fantastic!!! To me the lone tree looks like something of strength!!! It’s a good thing I’m sure

Panel three and four swept me up into Miyazaki’s Mononoke Hime… So dreamy and tense.

Townsend? Townsend? Is he okay? Are we going to see him again?

Blood and Shale!

the tree of feathers seems like a big distraction from the Lion’s directions. I hope the reward is worth the penalty.
April 9th, 2009 at 11:02 am
climbing that tree is gonna be difficult, hope charles makes friends along the way
April 9th, 2009 at 12:51 pm
Amazing, as always… and Ramón – I think it is a murder – murder of crows…
April 9th, 2009 at 1:09 pm

Impressive, for his friend Charles would go to the end of the earth. Or maybe he’s gone to the beginning.
