PvP Guest Strip!
April 17th, 2009
Another Charles Christopher strip this week? Not exactly. I was asked by Scott Kurtz to do a guest strip for his webcomic, PvP, which was both an honor and a lot of fun. Not surprisingly, I managed to work some animals into it, so it’s sort of like getting a bonus comic on Friday.

Love panel 2 :]

That was a weird moment of cognitive dissonance for me. I clicked on my PVP bookmark and found myself thinking “Hey, a new Charles Christopher… wait, what?”
It was great, by the way.

Gawain: identically same here :)

Holy… This is… I’m… Dumbfounded at how amazing this is.
Gawain: Me 3, I’m still pleasantly confused.

Nice one. I remember you have written about the book The Three Billy Goats Gruff one year ago. You are truly like this book a lot i guess.

minus the “are” at my comment.

I found your site this morning because of the PvP guest strip. What a great strip you have! The art is tremendous and the story is amazing. This is a definite bookmark for me.

Nice one! Three Billy Goats Gruff is one of my favourites too – I have a very worn Richard Scarry version that I adore.

Terrific comic you have, I also found it through PvP. I just read it front to back and got it bookmarked now :) Looking forward to more of your amazing work!

Hi from another PvP reader who was impressed by the guest strip and bookmarked your site. This is a truly lovely comic. Any plans for a collection in book form? It’s the kind of art I like to have around to look at, away from the internet.

Gawain: Me 4. The two bookmarks are right next to each other on my browser and that’s exactly what went through my head.

Found your strip due to PVP link too. I read the archives, and I really like your art and storytelling. I have a feeling you have earned quite a few new readers today. Keep up the good work!

I’ve been an ACC fan since close to the beginning of the strip… so it was a thrill to recognize your style in PvP!! Best guest cartoonist Scott’s ever had, IMHO! :^)

Hi Karl,
I’ve been following both Charles Christopher and PvP and although I like both strips and stories, there’s no way Scott could have ever pulled off the goat eyes in panels 3 and 4 (great!). In fairness to him, I like his Skull better.
Cheers

Hi Karl,
I just read on PVP that the incoming traffic from your guest strip made your website crash or something. This means I am also partially responsible for that, because I became so engrossed with your marvellous series that I read it all, starting from strip one, and I’m pretty sure I wasn’t the only one. For that I am truly sorry (not the reading, but the crashing).
Be prepared for a whole lot more traffic from now on. And you more than deserve it.

I originally came here via Applegeeks some time ago.
I just rediscovered this from PVP last week.
This time I remembered to subscribe to the RSS feed, so I’m here to stay.
Love the work

Definitely much better than the regular PvP fare!
