Wednesday Comics Contest!

I know you’re already accustomed to coming here on Wednesdays, but I wanted to mention that I have another comic sharing the same release date this week. It’s called ‘Wednesday Comics‘ and it’s a really cool project from DC Comics that’s a throwback to the old Sunday strips from the 1930’s. It’s a 12-issue weekly series and I’m drawing (and co-writing) a page of it each week – a story about The Flash (fastest man alive, FYI).
And there’s an added bonus contest!: I’ve snuck our favourite dim-witted yeti into one of the episodes! I’m not telling you which of the twelve issues he’s in, but email me a picture of yourself holding the page and pointing to him and you’ll be entered into a draw to win an original sketch from me. Send mail to mail@abominable.cc with the subject ‘Wednesday Comics Contest’.
Wednesday Comics launches this Wednesday , so head on over to your local comic shop and let me know what you thought of it!

Are retailers allowed to participate? Some of us (not Challengers, but many others) get their books on Tuesdays. Even getting them at 6:00am on Wednesdays like we do puts us at an extremely unfair advantage… Just want to play fair.

Good point, Patrick. I guess the answer is no. That would be unfair.
And I’ll just disregard any contest email I receive that seems fishy. Is there a better way to ensure fair play?

Sounds great fun! I look forward to seeing it!
Bit of a shame the majority of the UK comic shops receive their comics on Thursdays, so none of us Britfans can take part. :P
Unless all of the US readers are phenomenally slow. ;)

I’ve changed the rules of the contest so that time is no longer an issue. Instead of going with the ‘first person to email’ format, I’ll do choose a random entry at the end of that week.
Europeans are BACK IN THE GAME!

God damn it, Karl, I already buy too many comics. I resisted when I first heard the idea. I resisted when I read that you (awesome) would be doing the Flash (awesomer). You make this very, very hard.

This is SO exciting to hear! I’ve been waiting anxiously for Wednesday Comics, and the Flash is probably my favorite featured character, and yet somehow reading about it before it didn’t click in my head that you were YOU and you were the one involved in the Flash part. If that makes sense (it may not). Definitely on the top of my pull list for this week.

Karl, from one Carl/Karl to another I just have to say your Flash strip in Wednesday comics made my day. I’ve been reading comics most of my life (I’m 25 and started in 1987, you can do the math) and as a kid my favorite comic was a Silver Age Oversized Reprint of a Flash story. This brought that all back. Thanks so much.

Thanks everyone!!
I just got my hands on a copy of the issue and I’m really pleased with it. Love the newsprint!
Eleven more issues to go, and things get truly crazy.

I’m enjoying the Flash pages, and all of WC.

Love WC and I especially love The Flash! I think the Iris Allen strip might even be more enjoyable, I just love your take on that style of art.
