Hmm… I imagine that skunks would have a built-in shoplifter deterrent mechanism. I wonder if Charles will need to wash off more than just sap and leaves after this encounter?
What did I say about getting the sticky stuff out of his fur? Gonna be a problem. And on an unrelated note, but because SRB mentioned them, does anyone else have trouble with how Mythbusters uses animal carcasses for their ‘tests’? I find it deplorable. I no longer watch the show.
The animals they use in Mythbusters died of natural causes. No foul.
I feel sorry for the poor chipmunk. Maybe a few crumbs left over. But with an appetite like Charles’ there won’t be many. Maybe the chipmunk can clean his fur of sap while they travel together for a bit while spouting philosophy, sort of like the “crispy” crab who traveled with Charles after the soccer game.
I love this! XD I love how Charles just has this “I’m sorry but I’m starving” look on his face in the last panel. This all never would of happened if he’d just taken that acorn… tsk tsk.
I like Sissi’s expression in the last problem. She looked more surprised than upset at Charles eating all of her cakes. It’s the same look I give to my sibblings after I bake. “It took me two and a half hours to make these cookies and you’ve reduced them all to crumbs in two an a half seconds…”

I love Charles’ expression in panel 2. He always seems to surprised and flabbergasted at the world. It’s hilarious.

i LOVE wednesdays! this is so great! the leaves stuck on his forehead are so classic.
September 30th, 2009 at 8:40 am
Haha – this is great! I was hoping we’d see/ hear more about Sissi. One of my favorites strips is the one with the adverting skunks.
Lovely work as always!

commercial breaks are very welcome! Ah, sissi is just too cute.
September 30th, 2009 at 9:06 am
Uh-oh. First he’s licking trees, now he’s stealing. Has Charles developed a … sap problem?
September 30th, 2009 at 9:08 am
I wanna sap-cake too…

I told you he should have gone for the bunny with a pancake.
September 30th, 2009 at 9:57 am
Oh goodness. The eyes and mustache had me thinking of a certain someone from Mythbusters.
September 30th, 2009 at 9:58 am
(the eyes and mustache in panel one, that is)
September 30th, 2009 at 10:24 am
Oh, Charles. Skunk disapproval is not the same as disapproval from the sample ladies @ BigBoxofStuffStore.
(At least Miss Sissi can sell him an industrial-sized can of tomato juice. Or two.)
September 30th, 2009 at 10:38 am
Its all about the emphasis from the Chipmunk. -I’m- a member. Classic.

Ha ha man, those sap cakes were prolly pretty tasty. I guess they were free samples, Charles just took one to many…
September 30th, 2009 at 1:11 pm
haha… that last panel looks like he has one of those leafy Greek laurel crowns on his head. Now he just needs a large white toga. Great work man!
September 30th, 2009 at 1:12 pm
Bwaaahaa haha ha!
Stealth Charles! Comes with Detachable Lightning Sap Cakes.
(action figures with anything Lightning- with them are super-cool!)

That last panel is freakin priceless!!!
September 30th, 2009 at 2:49 pm
Adam – I think you’ll find the ’surprised and flabbergasted’ state of Charles is quite akin to his creator.
September 30th, 2009 at 2:53 pm
It’s true…
September 30th, 2009 at 3:26 pm
This comic never ceases to amaze and please.
September 30th, 2009 at 4:08 pm
LOLOLOL!!!!
Last panel is gold.
Wednesdays are my new favorite day.

I think Charles had better start running.
September 30th, 2009 at 9:50 pm
Dangit I’m really hungry now.
Awwww that poor chipmunk. :c
September 30th, 2009 at 9:50 pm
I feel kind of bad for that little rodent who wanted the cakes.
Where will he go to get his hot-from-the-oven delights NOW?
October 1st, 2009 at 12:21 am
In the last panel he reminds me of my dog. In fact the expressions are damn near identical.

…*Blinks*…Panel…not problem…. at work….brain not work right. I apologize.

XD I loved the skunk’s expression in that last panel and then Charles’ caught-in-the-act look.
The first panel is what made me laugh the most.

Bethany & Karl – is that right? lol that’s awesome!
October 1st, 2009 at 2:16 pm
I absolutely love Wednesdays, for this comic almost entirely. :D
October 2nd, 2009 at 10:59 am
Love the emphasis on the Members bit; just like in real life, it doesn’t mean a thing outside the store:
“Excuse me, sir; are you a member?”
“No, I’m looking for a Mr. Charles Christopher.”
“What name shall I say, sir?”
“Just give him my card, will you?”
October 4th, 2009 at 11:44 am
Awww. He’s just so hungries. :(
October 4th, 2009 at 5:57 pm
=D I just read aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaall of your comics in an hour, bad move. I wish there was more =[.
Your art is magical! I’ve never come across such expression and beauty in a comic, let alone a web comic. Charles <3

@Alex
Same thing happened to me a couple of months ago. Now I have to wait patiently like everyone else XD. Comic binges are awesome though!
October 7th, 2009 at 2:24 pm
Sissi’s expression in the final panel did me in.
That was just sheer perfection.
