This is a great strip! (as always) I especially love the fade-in effect on panels 2-3 and the frightened look on Charles’ face in the last panel. Plus I think Luga looks pretty awesome.
This is so nice – I love the way the scenes shift from looking down on Charles to seeing from his perspective, then back again but with a wider scope – kinda makes me happy Lovely art, as always!
Those “coming around” panels are great. Nice use of the shaky word bubbles too. Can’t wait to see if poor Charles is in trouble for eating all the free samples. Poor thing–he’s already had punishment enough!
That doesn’t even begin to describe how horrible skunks smell. I can tell when they have been loitering near my house for days after….I hope they don’t loiter when I am home and have to run into them.
finally, a peak at what charles is thinking. i would love to see a bit more from his perspective, when the opportunity is there….
i love quality of the first few panels too.
@Bat-Snake, no dat’s a wolf, Townsen’s dad’s a fox, assuming the animals of the forest don’t have Disney Genetics, well, it just wouldn’t work. Now if Townsen was a coyote, say, that would be different…
*sigh* I am insanely jealous of your travels Karl – if you should ever happen to wander around Dallas, let me know and I shall rustle up some proper Southern hospitality for you
I actually kinda suspected the cops might be wolves. I thought it would be a species with a hierarchical social structure to reflect the ranks of policemen. I figured it might be either wolves or ants.

So… new character! I’m guessing Luga’s the police chief?
October 14th, 2009 at 12:08 pm
“The meek SHALL inherit the earth!” Don’t you mean “The reek SHALL inherit the earth”?

The last panel (without the words – or with the words) would make an excellent art plate.

He’s an angry little skunk huh?
October 14th, 2009 at 12:35 pm

The first panel is priceless. CC=X_X Guess you don’t mess with Sissi!

Is that Townsen’s dad!?

I just started reading this comic today, and I read through all the archives right away. I love it! It reminds me of Bone, Bloom County, and Gon

But WHY is Charles so hungry???
October 16th, 2009 at 12:32 pm
@Start, because he didn’t eat his crisp!
October 17th, 2009 at 1:14 pm
I have the feeling Luga will play an important part in Charles’ quest later on…
I like how he’s all calm while Sissy’s throwing a hissy. XD
October 17th, 2009 at 8:35 pm
i am a big fan…after randomly stumbling onto your site. i grew up reading comics, and loved yours so much that i bought a t-shirt!
