The Captain’s expression in the second panel is Sean Connery personified (duckified?): “You shee Mishter Havelle” Ignoranshe is, indeed, the parent of fee-yah”.
Absolutely wonderful! The last panel is just great. I love Charles’s expression, and the “captains” expression in the second panel is perfect. I just love these little ducks. ^^
I’m imagining one of the ducklings en route: “I’ll chase him round Good Hope, and round the Horn, and round the Norway Maelstrom, and round perdition’s flames before I give him up!”
Takes more than a casual dip in the pond to take the skunk stank off ye.
“Blacksmith, I set ye a task. Take these harpoons and lances. Melt them down. Forge me new weapons that will strike deep and hold fast. But do not douse them in water; they must have a proper baptism. What say ye, all ye men? Will you give as much BLOOD as shall be needed to temper the steel?”
“… to the last I grapple with thee; from hell’s heart I stab at thee; for hate’s sake I spit my last breath at thee”
I used to want to get Hokusai’s “Wave” tattooed on my chest… I think that has now been replaced by Charles Christophers “Sea Monster”! Well done Karl, bloody brilliant as always!
@carroll – I’ll stick with the ducks – anytime . But I fear this is just a “mild respite” before we return to the arc . And there will be troubles ahead .
ahhahahahhaha. by far my favourite *funny* strip. at least of the ones i can remember. it can stand alone. on the wall. framed. and rob’s connery voice is now embedded on little oskar. so fun!
Byt he way, the link to the Finnish translation leads to a completely unrelated site. I thought that maybe I should let you know if you already didn’t.
New reader – found you through FX. Read everything this morning.
You. Are. Amazing! CC has made me laugh, cry, angry, sad, confused. Everything! You have a talent for drawing and telling stories, and tapping into the human soul!
Thank you
Hello,
I have discovered this comic today. I have basically been absorbed by it for the last couple of hours and I’ve swallowed the whole in one gulp.
I just wanted to say that your work is amazing. The characters are very moving and the artwork is just so beautiful… And I love pretty much everything about this comic: overall plot, side stories, humor, etc.
There’s a simplicity in these strips that goes straight to the heart and where one can either be touched and grin stupidly or laugh out loud at the outspoken truth of the basic things of life. The more serious parts of this strip are equally beautiful.
Let me just end this comment in saying congratulations on your fantastic work. I wish you all the best and I guess I’ll be hanging around here too for now on. =D

The Left Wing of the Day of Judgement? lol. I’m sensing a lot of splashing about to occur. Also that attack mode basically means tickling positions.
