Strike Two

“In the Spring a young hare’s fancy lightly turns to thoughts of love.”
- Alfred Lord Bunnyson

34 Abominable Comments!

  1. Secundus

    Somewhere skunks are playing, and somewhere foxes shout. But there is no joy in Cedar Forest, our gallant hare has struck out.

  2. Volrath

    I’m not that familiar with english literature. :/

    What does it referr to?

  3. thisfox

    hmmm. I do worry about the poor chap.

  4. Rhio2k

    Ah, our lovely actress. She has a promising career in that forest. Let’s see how she fares on the stage of love.

  5. Kobble

    Yay! Finally, some use out of studying Romeo and Juliet. Well, other than expanding the mind, supposedly…
    Poor rabbit! She’s not worth his attentions, say I! Evil temptress…
    Will strike three break his little heart? O.o

  6. K Douglas

    @Volrath
    I believe that would be Cyrano de Bergerac, by Edmond Rostand.

    @Kobble
    Good guess, though. I can just see Mercutio rambling this.

  7. DT II

    @Karl – once again an awesome representation of life. Thank you for all that you have done with CC and in advance for all that is to come.

    @Secundus – Very nice! Any plans to do the preceeding lines? It would be cool.

  8. noah

    wow

  9. i-hate-socks

    oh, poor bugger. I hope he doesn’t strike out. the new site is beautiful by the way! searchable !!!! so cool!

  10. Jon Stump

    I love the new site. I must say that third panel creeps me out just a little bit, but at the same time I hope he can pull himself together.

  11. Quendor

    dun dun DUNNNNNNN!

  12. Robin William Scott

    He’s quoting Roxanes lines? … Shouldn’t he be quoting Cyrano?

    I think the future looks bright for this rabbits love life, spying on him like that …

  13. Robin William Scott

    The new archive feature is interesting … I just searched for Rabbit … I want to read the first in this ‘arc’ (that was the one that Karl actually edited based on our comments suggesting it was confusing right?) … but I guess that strip isn’t tagged yet.

    The others that are are interesting though … do we think this is the same rabbit that Charles saved from the trap?

  14. Darren

    I really like the “footer” would make a great t-shirt !

  15. Darren

    ok… um i just looked ant that already is a t-shirt… good job!

  16. Argent Stonecutter

    You people!

    And somewhere men are laughing, and somewhere children shout;
    But there is no joy in Mudville— mighty Casey has struck out.

  17. Tigerlady

    Lovely strip. I feel bad for that poor rabbit.. He’ll win out in the end! Hopefully…

    As for the new look, I love it! I haven’t checked out the search feature, but it sounds great. Thanks for all your hard work, Karl! ^^

  18. Majico

    For those looking for the first in the arc, search for “strike one”.
    oh well here’s a link: http://www.abominable.cc/2008/12/17/strike-one/
    Anyway great job Karl.

  19. Ike

    That’s a female rabbit, so she SHOULD be doing Roxanne’s lines. Notice the blush on her cheeks & the prominent eyelashes. Plus, in the “Strike One” comic, the female rabbits all have the poofy fur on their chests, unlike the male; the rabbit in this strip has said poofy fur. That’s probably her would-be suitor hiding in the shadows.

  20. as363

    Karl – love the new layout – seems very organic . Lovely strip as always . Thank you.

  21. ayanna

    @Secundus thumbs up!

  25. Maxine MagicFox

    *sigh* Love is so rough. :( Poor rabbit!

  26. Secundus

    I may do the rest of the lines, if I can find the time between classes, haha

  27. Robin

    Ike … oh man you’re right … I suck! HAHAHAH

    Thanks, that makes MUCH more sense to me now.

  28. Darkcrystal

    Ahh another poem molded into comic form. The love you get is always taken for granted especially from those of a stalker XD

    Love the new graphics on the new sight btw. Much more charming then the other one. Gotta love the gang down on the bottom of the page :D

  29. Wolfgang

    @Wolfgang – I can’t ask for more than that. You’re very welcome.
    Thanks, everyone, for the kind words and the support.

  32. Vashra

    Karl … You draw startled possibly terrified bunnies so very well…were you scarred by the animation of Watership Down as a kid? ;) (I know I was, but I still can’t draw lol).

  33. karl

    No, but I was chased by a group of turkey vultures one time.
    That is a true story.

  34. calendarization

    Oh, somewhere in this favored land the sun is shining bright;
    The wind is blowing feathers, and somewhere hearts are light
