For some reason I really like Charles` form in the last panel, he`s just a round fuzzy furball with arms and legs. :D But I wouldn`t want to run into him now.
Awe! I love how emotional this week’s strip is. CC reaches a vulnerable part of all of us, I think. Karl, thanks for sharing your vision and beautiful art will all of us!
I am so curious about what will happen when Charles gets to the city. I just can’t imagine him actually hurting anything living. I will be disappointed if it ends up being ass-kicking-as-usual the way almost every other story seems to go.
I’m staggered that people complain about ACC ‘wandering off storyline’. It feels to me’ like they’re entirely missing the subtle nuances of GOOD storytelling. Yes, there are diversions, but they’re an integral part of telling this story. They set the Charles into a world. They make everything feel more complete and thus make us care more about the progression of our hero.
I love this comic so much. It’s early I know, but I already have a growing anxiety over what it will feel like when it ends … I don’t want that to ever happen.
Karl, what you’re doing here is reminding me why I love this medium. Why I have this urge to create within this medium. You’re achieving comics at their highest potential right here.
I love the look on Charles face in the 4th panel. Awesome. I sense bad things happening to unknowing people. As well as some eye opening experiences for Charles, I hope it’s not to overwhelming for him.
Great arwork, it’s nice to see this kind of quality around :).
I love the way you use expressions and how you use the distinctive personality of each character!

Who was it commenting that we’d wandered off storyline? Well, here we go back again. Personally I don’t mind the diversions, but…
March 17th, 2010 at 8:52 am
OH SNAP, look at that determination. CC’s about to rip somebody UP!!
March 17th, 2010 at 9:15 am
I wouldn’t mind a crossover with Smokey the Bear. Just kidding.

I think somebody will get kicked….

Yeaaaah, that’s my boy !! Go Chuck !! (Love his face on the fourth panel).
March 17th, 2010 at 11:26 am
Solider on big guy. Just keeping moving forward.
March 17th, 2010 at 12:02 pm
I love how you can see the determination in his shoulder blades. <3 Go get 'im, Charles!
March 17th, 2010 at 12:52 pm
OH SNAP! CC is gonna kick off! I pity the foo’ who killed Townsen!
March 17th, 2010 at 1:39 pm
CHARLES SMASH.
March 17th, 2010 at 2:18 pm
Squash that king like a grape!
March 17th, 2010 at 2:59 pm
I think ACC would be entertaining and worth a weekly visit even without the ‘plot’. What a rich a vibrant world Karl has created, out of the blue!
March 17th, 2010 at 3:00 pm
ps, has Charles put on a few pounds over the winter? :p
March 17th, 2010 at 3:19 pm
Yep – that’s how I deal with my bouts of depression when they come up: I have a good cry, then deal with the aftermath for the rest of the day.
; >
But now…. Charles has a determination on his face. I wonder what that “king” will make of him….

It’s like an epiphany!

Chuck’s face on fourth panel…
I know I’ve seen it somewhere else…
Right!

hehehe
Love it!

Those last 2 panels are straight out of a stallone film! I can almost here the dramatic music swell in the background.
March 17th, 2010 at 4:43 pm
Looks like Charles is continuing on the mission given him by the Cthulion…
In the words of a certain little owl: “Go get ‘em, big guy.”
March 17th, 2010 at 5:36 pm
@Cristián: I lawled ^_^
March 17th, 2010 at 10:57 pm
:( I love that second frame, though it makes me so sad to see CC crying. *sniffles*
March 18th, 2010 at 12:08 am
He’s never spoken a single word, yet we’ve come to grow so fond of him, the quiet hero, Charles.
You can do it Charles!
March 18th, 2010 at 12:10 am
That is what people call the “look of Grim Determination”.

March 18th, 2010 at 10:34 am
S*** just got real…
March 18th, 2010 at 4:44 pm
Oh man, Charles looks pissed… That’s a first!
March 18th, 2010 at 5:18 pm
He looks…. angry.
March 19th, 2010 at 6:21 pm
I’d like to see Charles finally rip someone up. But he’s great at being the strong, silent, sensitive kind.
March 21st, 2010 at 1:32 am
FINALLY!
But wait, before he actually makes it to the plot, he has to brave the perils of the maze of filler.

I’m not sure that smoke is coming from the city but from a nearby campsite. It seems distant but not so distant as to be from the city.
March 26th, 2010 at 10:16 pm
Cue the epic vengence moozic. some where, some how. . . an ass is about to be kicked.
May 10th, 2010 at 3:52 pm
I love Charles’ “quit yer whinin chuck, time to pick yourself up by the ankle fur and get srsly down to srs business” face in the fourth panel
