Most webcomics fillers are just sketches, wallpapers or fan service. As far as I'm concerned these animal comics are as good as the main arc.
(But I sure would like a wallpaper..)

You definately don't need to apoligise for these "filler" comics! You add so much depth to characters that other artists and writers don't bother with. It's these extras that make people fall in love with the "side" characters as well as the protagonist.

See I wouldn't mind him being able to go out, so long as he is responsible about it... but only if SHE gets equal time out on her own as well!

I guess that I'm supposed to be sympathetic with the husband but I can't do it. Maybe it's a gender thing.

We've seen this guy come back late from the bar more than once more than half in the bag when he should know better. Wasn't one time his anniversary? He'd find a frying pan to the face if that were me.

Unlike Andy though, this guy's got kids so I just can't find it as funny.

I love these little animal side-stories.

While they may technically be filler, they certainly don't feel like it! <3

Thanks for understanding, everyone. I like the peripheral characters too, but sometimes I get asked about why the 'story' is stalled and I just wanted to explain myself here.

@Kokoro: I WAS at the IGDA. Next time come and say hello!

WE could draw a comparison of your work to the great Al Capp. He had a unique style, very unique universe, and juggled several storylines at once. Fortunately, you have managed to mostly stay away from the soapbox. That was his downfall, he retired cause he recognized that he was getting bitter, and it was no longer fun for him or the audience. You however, have managed to keep it light, yet poignant, you have touched on several important issues, but have avoided being preachy. you have created an empathy in your audience that is remarkable. I really do love your work.
