What? Another painting??
Yes! This one will be available as a print at the Andenne Comics Festival in November, where I’ll be a guest. I’m touring Europe with TX pals Cameron Stewart and Ramón Pérez throughout most of November – six countries in one month!

I’ll post dates here soon, so check back and make sure to come and see us if we’re in your neighbourhood.

Just thought I’d post this for fun. It’s a birthday card I made for my girlfriend’s dad (he’s renowned for his skinny sandpiper legs) and it’s a painting style I’ve been experimenting with.
I’m thinking of doing a book of animal paintings like this. Possibly a children’s book.

After a gruelling twelve weeks of fierce competition, the Wednesday Comics Contest has come to an explosive end!
Actually, I just picked a random name from the email entries. But it was exciting for me!
Congratulations to young Evan Shaner of Aurora, Colorado! He’ll receive an original Abominable Charles Christopher drawing from me, which I am going to go and draw right now.
Thanks to everyone for participating. And in all sincerity, I hope you enjoyed Wednesday Comics. It was a treat for me to work on and I’m very proud of it. Hopefully there’s a nice hardcover collection in the works.

Howdy howdy howdy.
Thanks to everyone who came out to see me in Toronto last weekend! The TX crew was well represented and it was a real pleasure to meet so many of the people who are reading and supporting The Abominable Charles Christopher.
Thought I’d post some pics from the weekend. The first is a photo of a Townsen Tattoo sent to me by Emily. She loves foxes. A lot. I was surprised and flattered that she chose Townsen to be a permanent part of her body – it’s always weird to see my drawings take on lives of their own outside of the comic.
Next is a sketch I did of Charles climbing the mountain. I liked the way it turned out, and Jonathan was kind enough to scan it and send it to me.
If you received a sketch from me or have a story to share, post it in the TX Forum. If you don’t… well, come and see me at the Montreal Comic-Con and I’ll do one for you!

The Transmission X creators* will be special guests at the upcoming Toronto FANEXPO being held at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre on August 28-30th. Transmission X will be located in the Special Guests area.

I love the discussion that goes on in the comments section of each strip here, but for longer discussions we’ve set up the TX Forum where we can all hang out, start new conversation threads and get more detailed answers to questions. It’s also a great place to find (or recommend) new comics and get advice!

I know you’re already accustomed to coming here on Wednesdays, but I wanted to mention that I have another comic sharing the same release date this week. It’s called ‘Wednesday Comics‘ and it’s a really cool project from DC Comics that’s a throwback to the old Sunday strips from the 1930’s. It’s a 12-issue weekly series and I’m drawing (and co-writing) a page of it each week – a story about The Flash (fastest man alive, FYI).

And there’s an added bonus contest!: I’ve snuck our favourite dim-witted yeti into one of the episodes! I’m not telling you which of the twelve issues he’s in, but email me a picture of yourself holding the page and pointing to him and you’ll be entered into a draw to win an original sketch from me. Send mail to mail@abominable.cc with the subject ‘Wednesday Comics Contest’.

I’m trekking back to Toronto this weekend for the Toronto Comic Arts Festival, where I’ll be sharing table space with my tx-comics pals. We’ll have freebies to promote our various webcomics, and I’m hauling boxes of Abominable Charles Christopher shirts and prints with me to sell.
This show only happens once every two years, and it’s always full of exciting new books to check out, so stop on by!

Another Charles Christopher strip this week? Not exactly. I was asked by Scott Kurtz to do a guest strip for his webcomic, PvP, which was both an honor and a lot of fun. Not surprisingly, I managed to work some animals into it, so it’s sort of like getting a bonus comic on Friday.

If you’ve been following me on Twitter, you may already know that I’ve decided to attend the New England Webcomics Weekend! I’m excited to meet all of the webcomics folks I didn’t get a chance to meet in New York, and from the looks of it, it’s going to be extremely well-attended.

I’m driving down from Montréal with Cameron Stewart, and we’ll be socializing our way through the weekend. I won’t be bringing anything to show or sell, but please come and say hi if you see me! If you’ve got a sketchbook, I might have time to do some quick Charles Christopher drawings…
